E-dae Shopping

Sunday was E-dae shopping with Zhong wei, Vincent and Joyce. ZW is xiao pang's NUS korean class friend. Haha so we had a Singaporean outing and I love Singlish!!

E-dae is alwys a heaven for me. There are so many things I NEED to buy frm there. I like the guy's vests and blazers!! Totally cool and quirky! I think I will change my style to more male-inspired dressing. wahahaha. I want to buy the vests!!!

Take a look at: lookbook.nu

I LOVE ENGLISH DRESSING!! I must go to London for my next graduate trip. =D
In Korea, you cannot deviate from the norm dressing if not ppl will stare and some commented in Korean, thinking I don't understand. haha but I don't care.

Be it novel, be it weird. It is me. =D

Winter is coming!! I have thoughts of wearing those Finlandish kind of style. haha but I need vest and scarves! Oh and I saw really cute boots from Everlast!! So ex though. 100+SGD. N I'm going to buy more colored leggings!!

On the other hand, the black and white is back. Chanel inspired. I like the idea of basics w a smart black blazer but....I still prefer colors. :)

Dinner was BBQ pork once again and Joyce treated us to dessert ' RED MANGO'. Guilt-free yoghurt ice cream? haha =D ( I really need this advertising to delude myself)

Yea! Friday is Korea's Thanksgiving day. Holiday and I'm going to Namiseom Island (Winter Sonanta filming site) with ZW and Vincent. I'll take as much pics as Cammy can hold =D

Geuldari sae yo!! I WILL BE BACK!

Ah pek style flats for KRW 18,000
I wanted to buy a navy strip top for so long! Versatile. KRW 8,000. Material is good =D

Guilt-free yoghurt ice-cream. Do you beliff whn they say its FAT free?

So many T-junctions for humans. Confusion whenever the green man appears.

Grain gong-gi bap. I like beans~

Fish, meat, veges. We can't be anymore healthier.

Care for some fortune telling? These are mobile tellers dotted all over Seoul. You will see high schools students and young girls patronising. So unconfident of themselves and their future?
ATTENTION: Below are some selca pics took in one of the store in E-dae while waiting for the guys to finish their shopping. Scroll if only you're interested in my irritating face otherwise, x the window away. Wahaha =D

Pink and blue geek specs. Cute~~

I found my flame- Ho Ddok and fell in love with the cinnamon scent immediately. Sarang hae yo! ^o^ Imagine my expression savoring it =^o^= mashi so yo!!!!

Saturday & my new Hp!

I got my new hp thanks to Jun Gu and Joyce! =D

Hp is free and with no plan. The interface is so cute and the cover is a mirror =D

So I will pay according to how much I used. For the 1st 2 mths- 8000KRW/mth for 600sms. So raw right? My subscriber is LG telecom.

Went to Joyce's church service in Jang Chung stadium. The performers are so professional. They can sing and dance really well. I like the songs they sang though I cannot understand fully. The service is unlike a particular church in Spore whereby they use hard metal and rock music.

Noise pollution & Peace-less.

Dinner was Chuk-Dae (Pig's trotter) and Nyeng-Myeon. Thanks Joyce for the treat =)
First time trying pig's trotter in Seoul. Nice and not greasy. No pig stench. I think the secret lies in the samjang, kimchi and lotsa ssangchul (lettuce)!!

With a full tummy, we walked to Dongdaemun. Its shopping again but I alwys don't manage to buy anything from there. They have alot of counterfeit products- True religion jeans, Polo, branded bags and wallets.

Jin Guang told me how open-minded Koreans are and when the night falls, the mask is revealed. I guess this explains why motels mushroom all over Seoul. I used to picture Korea as a beautiful country ( it still is, but only the scenery), but now I am seeing Korea is another light. Everyday I learn something new about their culture and usually they aint very good. haha =D

Ask me this qns again: Do you want to work in Korea?

No, thanks. 2-4 yrs of study is enough.

Being a tourist beats being an alien.
Such cute interface. I can choose from many options too.

Its a starry starry night whenever I flip the cover close.

Beautiful packaging. Comes with charger, 2 battery, 2 covers, headset... FREE.

Ok, I'm obessed with geek specs. I regret not bringing mine here! ArGH!

Dong dae mun at night.

Street stalls in Dong dae mun. The darker the skies, the brighter the neons.

Seoul- A city that never sleeps.

How can I lose weight with these!!! Teach me.

Ok, its beckoning me. Help!!!! I'm sorry to my tummy but I can't resist good food.

Doesn't this looks so 'Chinese New Year' mood? It is spicy and contains wasabi.

I miss Kueh Lapis when I lookd up to the ceiling...... =(

Tteok. Sweet and taste like muah chi.

Outings in a week

Haha no more fashion show so I took pic of what I wana wear. But usually I changed my mind last min. =D

Pochangmacha. This is the moment I feel like puking >.<
Pig intestine stuffed with glutinous rice.

Skewered fish cake.

41 cm pad. Ok wait. Is that a diaper in diguise?

Disgusting bettle? Wth is it!!!

I think koreans are so bored they wana test out Mendelian law.

'Nobody nobody but you!' The adv of gng to movie EARLY. haha 515pm.

I am back again after a hectic week =)

Tues. Pharmacology lecture but the prof was in US hence, we tried conference lecture but too much static. So he is going to give us makeup lessons on Mon and Tues. Total 6 hrs of cell signalling and cancer biology >.<

Luckily he is responsible to have makeup lectures.

Wed. I have cell pathophysiology lecture in korean at 4pm-7pm. I brought my bag along so I'll head home str after lecture. Hehe... but I decided to drop it because it is too boring and I'm required to take a Biochemistry module next sem which is mandatory. Hence, why the extra load? haha I decided to relax now. So!!! I went to watch movie with Joyce! This time we went to Yoksam station CGV cinema for - My sister's keeper. After movie, we head for their E-mart (the reason why Carrefour closed down). Nd go around eating samples. haha to fill our tummies.

A very moving story which shed light on different perspectives with a twist at the end. Jodi Picoult is amazing. Her books tug at the heart strings of the reader and sometimes make me wonder how superficial humans can be.

We ordered sundae and odeng at pojangmacha. The sundae taste like pig. I almost puke after eating a few pieces. Cannot!! I concluded if you want to eat sundae, pls go to a reputable restuarant. Well...at least if you aint korean.

Thurs. Lab cleaning day! 10am - 6pm
Everyone is grouped and assigned different duties. We have a total of 3 labs. 2 on L2 and 1 on L3. Me and another 2 onees were in charged of one of the labs on L2.

Sweeping and mopping suddenly appears easy when I have to climb up the benchtop to wipe the windows. Yes, WINDOWS. So dusty that I think no one has cleaned it for ages. Seniors told me we have lab cleaning every semester, meaning every 4 mths. BUT! The condition doesn't seem to tell me that. Anw, we scrubbed everything from bottles to mirror to basinet. Oh! Not forgetting that I have to WASH pipet tips for western gel loading too!! It was initially the bangla's job but apparently he has 'TOO MUCH' duty on hand that I have to help him.

Lunch was chinese food delivery. Nt v nice. But since I don't have to pay for it. I just eat. Haha I don't understand why the koreans love to eat chinese food but dislike China or do not even know about the history (ok, this might be generalizing but it's true to certain extent). I can't put down in words how their character are like in general. But basically they are very very patriotic and being boxed up within their country. Everything is korea and korean. They seem to have this mentality that they are the best. It is painstakingly hard for them to accept changes or foreign production. Same goes for human relation....But I cannot comprehend the over- obsession over U.S.A or Caucasian. There are almost NO foreign eateries except for western food like Pizza, starbucks, dunkin donuts, Baskin Robins.

If you are thinking of selling authentic SPORE food eg laksa, chicken rice, drop that idea. Ironically, Rotiboy and Ya Kun are doing so fine. Ya Kun is located in Apkujong ( the Beverley Hills of Seoul) and kaya toast costs 5000KRW approx 6-7SGD. >.<

Maybe I could auction the KAYA in my suitcase costing RM2.00 in Gmarket Korea =D

The joke of the day:
1. 'Confucius is a korean'.

2. Dragon boat festival belongs to Korea. They went to petition for this law. How ironical when they do not know what is dumpling, pomelo or even dragon boat but wants to claim that this festival stems frm Korea?

FYI, koreans follow the Confucius teachings. I hate the man are alwys more superior than women ideology. To hell with it and recently newspaper have reported that the economy recovery is now more dependent on women than on guys.

Reason 1: Women are getting almost similar or even higher salary than men. I agree to that based on my experience. I LOVE MONEY ^^ ( this is a fact, if you think I'm superficial then, pls kindly donate your money to me).

Reason 2: Women are getting more ambitious and are willing to be tied down by traditions nor be a jack in the box.

Reason 3: Women are NOT STINGY! We spend and occasionally splurge on branded, spa and wellness. Guys just stand outside boutique stores giving mindless comments like 'Ok la, EVERYTHING looks nice on you, anything lo, you like den buy lo....' That's why I like making friends w metrosexuals or gays or guys who shop. They are totally unique in their dressing and hanging out w them is fun! Bottom line: We love shopping and this is a major route for economy's contribution.

Friday. SNU Department of Pharmacy Sport's Day 10am-7pm

Games played: Dodgeball (bimbotic), tug-of-war, arm wrestling, baseball, limbo, basketball and soccer. Because I never played baseball nor do I know the rules, they (one of the senior) do not allow me to play. So evil right!!! He did this last year to my China fren too! So proud. (Haha I guess you know which right ^o^ ) But well...Just heck care and don't bother too much otherwise my life will be miserable. There are nice seniors too =D

After Sports day, we head to Nokdu street (SNU students hang out) for drink. All gatherings aint w/o liquor. I stayed till 11pm playing games, drinking and chatting. Quite fun. Not to mention the unlimited flow of beer. I think I can hold my liquor better than my friends. Haha after downing I think at least 6 mugs, my face is still the same. haha not red and doesn't screams ' I drankk and am drunk'. =D

When I left, all of them are still there. They dare not leave despite feeling so tired because the seniors did not make a move first. And also, they might even hang out till wee hours changing location to DRINK again. Of coz I nid my beauty slp so being a foreigner has its advantage too. haha I just say 'Excuse me, I need to go home now. I am hometaying now so its not very nice to go home late'. haha =D

Oh! Haha there is this senior who looks like Kwon Sang Woo!! Except eyes bigger n cuter. wahaha. =D (Sorry peeps, I nv take pictures.)

Sometimes I wonder why they are so concern over others' judgement?

The Naked Truth

Sat.

Went back to lab. Clean the lab and went to play bball with 2 of my lab mates! Haha obviously I lost to them & had to treat em' drinks. But it was fun! I suggested playing every Sat. haha so as not to waste my bus ride to SNU. Home alone in the noon so I watched FATED TO LOVE YOU (alright, I know I am laggin). =D I watched till 2am lol. So nice!! So funny!! hahaha!! And it hanged so I guess its time to slp.

For lunch, Joyce brought me ard our neighbourhood. There are so many food stalls! We settled on sundae combination dish. I had a very bad experience during my Apr Korea trip. I ate sundae in Daehangro.

OMG! I can feel the PIG snorting inside me! =S

Totally disgusted. Btw, sundae is NOT ice cream. It is pig insides stuffed with vermicilli and rice. Ha Ji Man!!! The sundae Joyce brought me to eat was nice! It was not marinated so the piggy smell lingers but it was nt as bad as the first time. Haha I ate it with salt and samjang. Now I wana try Jeon- seafood jeon is my fav! and the fermented bean soup rcc by CC.

I am having fried chicken cravings.... =>.<=

I got study ok! Haha coz I got mol endo quiz on Mon.

End of Sat------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sun

I went to Jimjilbang =D Haha so happy! Is a fun place where they have EVERYTHING- DVD room, movie room, computer area, canteen, common TV rooms, snooker/billard room- All no separate charge! And you can stay inside there for 24hrs! Inside the female only area, you can go for a srub, a dip in the heated jacuzzis filled with medicinal herbs or sauna. The jacuzzis are relaxing. THey have at least 3 different kinds with different temperature. I could not take pictures otherwise, my blog would be pornographic. And the korea ajummas will clobber me to death. So, I shall narrate what I did ^^

I went for a whole body scrub (including the hair) for 20,000W. Oh my! If you look at the dirt scrubbed from your body, you will not believe it! Haha to think that I still scrub myself religiously back in Spore. Do I feel uncomfortable or awkward? Hm...initially yes. But the more you look shy, the more they will notice you. So, pls look LOCAL. haha give the bo chap face.
Anw, there's nothing to be shy cause we all have estrogen. Unless you are a transvestite pending operation.

Oh yes! Back to my super relaxing srub. Total time taken is ard 45min (ends 9pm). Haha I feel as though the auntie is marinating a pork (hm, nt tt I compared myself to one but yea, its the feeling) haha. N I almost fell asleep. >.<

You can really feel the difference! Haha smoother skin. They have shower cubicles (no doors, not even a shield) haha OPEN AIR. So after showering, they will provide moisturizer, hair lotion etc. Oh! My skin feels Purrr-Pact now!! (fyi, its perfect for those who don't get the joke)

Den you can change into the given tee and shorts for the common sauna (F&M). The saunas are totally cool! You can slp, eat, read inside. The ajummas and ajussi can slp and read books inside a 58 celcius sauna. Their sauna is unlike Spore. Sml and boring. They have purple crystals and jade-like pebbles stuck onto the wall- the WHOLE wall so that your back gets the equal treatment too! =D So cool! So, pls don't buy those so-called 'lucky crystals' from Chinatown that are said to improve health and whatever shit. The crystals MIGHT have an effect if you use it the right way, not by putting it at home and PRAYING to it. =) Anw, I am not a believer of such.

Okok back to my saunas. They have 3 saunas- 58, 78 and 7 celcius. The koreans told me the secret to flawless skin is....................... 58 --> 7. Do it for as many times as possible. haha =D Good for the pores perharps? But! Their skin are really flawless ^__^ I tried the 78 celcius. Poor cammy could have get a heat shock but she is dng fine. Same as me. we r equally hardy =D I think I will bring sweet potato and egg to eat inside the 78 celcius sauna. haha they might taste better.

After I had enough of alternating btw the diff saunas (hm..skin became ABIT better? haha nah, effect doesn't come so fast! Come on, even drugs are dose and time dependent.

I went back to the females only jacuzzi. They call it the- yak dang. And I bath agn! Haha must fully make use of the facilties. You can bath as many times you want inside. You can even purchase or bring your own hair mask, face mask or you wana mask your whole body also can if you're so shy. haha I regret not buying a hair mask. At the end of it, Joyce's friend treated me to eggs and the sweet traditional korean rice drink.

I reached home at 12am and have a test on Monday =S

Pi gon hae yo! But I'm so going jimjilbang again! This time with Joyce I hope! We can laze the whole Sat there!!

PS: Did I mention they have a weighing machine and I am now.............Ok! I don't dare to step on it else I scare myself to death and become anorexic =(

The 78 celcius sauna. See the hot air >.<

The common resting area.

The DVD bang. Such huge massage chair.

Eggs!

7 degree freezer.haha not very cold actually.

In contrary to the displayed wallpaper, no ang moh were to be seen and its not as atas. haha. True korean style. No high end spa gimmicks.

Prelude to jimjilbang. Fill our tummy with pochangmacha food =D
