Naksongdae & Sadang

Thanks for all your concern but I am FINE. haha I am not getting into any depression or emotionally unstable. Just that sometimes I tend to dwell deeper into matters. So untypical of Pei ye right? Well...even coins have 2 sides...needless to say homo sapiens. ^^

Ok! Today was another BUSY day. I'm so tired and irritated whenever I follow my senior's experiment with the bangla. Key word: BANGLA.

1. Tired because its repetition of WESTERN BLOT & cell culture!! I have done cell culture for 2yrs++++!!! And they like to classify me and the bangla into 1 catergory- Freshies with NO lab experiment =(

Why don't I tell them I know? I did.

But I did not want to come off as arrogant so I just followed them. Btw! Their tissue culture are all grown in petri dishes and they don't wear gloves. Nothing wrong with not wearing gloves just that spraying Ethanol directly onto your palm makes it SO DRY. I WILL wear glove if I start my own project. I don't want any skin problem at the end of 2 yrs.

Western blot, cell harvesting, drug treatment. I have done all of those. I always feel like sleeping and I REALLY HATE it when they treat me like a NOOB who has not done lab before. The way they conduct experiment is so RIGID. I must follow the PATTERN of scraping. Wth. Arrangement of tubes have to be 'pretty' and I think thats why they do things v slowly. Duno is meticulous or inefficient. Its a fine line.

I dislike ppl doing things slow. Its suffocating to WATCH.

And! The bangla alwys yak and yak SHIT to me. Telling me how WONDERFUL it is to learn from the senior when he is not present most of the time leaving me to do most of the work, how ORGANIZED the senior is when her table is obviously MESSY, how he can cast western gels w/o leakage when in fact, he has NOT done it before.

BLANK STARE. haha come on, imagine my face. Wide-eyed with no expression. haha isn't it hilarous? I should learn from my sis the twitch of the eyebrows. Tt'll be PURRRPACT!

I'll make him feel like he's talking to the wall with 2 rolled-up eyes.

1030am

Cell culture- btw its only aliquoting FBS! I can do that for 50 tubes and in less than 30mins. They use pipet and must ROTATE the bottle in a SPECIFIC MANNER. I almost fainted. Too rigid. I wonder if their brain are solid or semi-solid. They need to heat inactivate the FBS and follow a LONG SOP- overnight btw. Don't you just dump it into 56 celcius for 30mins?! Anyway, I don't think they even know this process is Heat inactivation.

PS: I am not hating my seniors. I like her. Its just the way koreans do things. It really pisses me off. That's why my face will turn SUPER BLACK during those times and I will be super silent- no smile no talk.

11am- Conference

Adding oil to fire, I was really ravenous beccoz the conference ended 12pm! AND! Lunch was HORRIBLE.

My stomach GROWLED during the seminar..so embaressing. And I'm thinking about cutlets, beef soup, MEAT MEAT MEAT and when we arrived at the dormitory canteen....

The menu states:

1. Sundae soup with rice (excuse me, this sundae has NO MEAT. Only glutinous rice stuffed into the pig's skin like thing)

2. Vegetable bibimbap to be mixed with rice. ( Pls notice the word VEGE)

WHERE IS THE GOLGI?!!! ME & MY FREN WERE SPEECHLESS. Obviously we bought option 2. After my 'pig in the stomach' experience with pochangmacha's sundae, I'll never eat sundae other than in restuarants, I swear. And I really don't like it- unless there is a famine.

1230PM- Finish meal. Notice my super lightning speed. 12pm-1230pm inclusive of driving, parking, getting food, returning utensils. Haha I'm truely amazed and certainly don't enjoy any min of it!

So, after the meatless & conversational-less lunch, my fren & I decided to go for cakes, ice creams & coffee to make ourselves feel better. BUT! My senior dragged me to follow her western expt agn =(

1-4pm Experiment. My eyes were half-opened. >.<

Finally I managed to sneak out with my fren, ok her name is Lijia, to cafe house! Yipee! I wore my coat & the Korean-ABC is so KPO.

''Why are you wearing coat?''

''Because I am cold.'' And off I went.

Ba po ya.

4-530pm. Tea time n relax. And we spot our senior strolling with a guy holding hands. So sneaky! N she claim she dun haf bf...so romantic.. the scenery ard SNU is so nice. I also want a nam ja chin gu!!! Give me hyun bin- lookalike!

Dinner was fantastic! We went to Naksongdae to eat BBQ galbi and fatty pork and went to Sadang to buy Krispy Kreme. Hm...I bought....a pair of shoes :(

Ok, the shoe is really cute and it has padding so can keep my feet warm and not very expensive and...its staring at me :(

And back home I went. What a full day.

Full of emotions.

This blog is the old me right? haha =D Maybe eating & shopping is really my therapy =)

PS: Purchase groceries from GS supermarket with value above KRW20,000 & they'll home deliver FOC!! Service is so good.
