Rise and shine on New Year's day and off I went to the LABORATORY!! Purpose: Thaw cells. Can you imagine walking on slippery snow+ice roads on a NY day to the lab for experiments?
CHOY PEI YE in the past will NEVER do that. haha She leaves at 6pm SHARP. She comes at 10am. She goes for lunch breaks minimum 2hrs. She shops and slack at home during weekends. She is not
that pro research being.
Now. Lab 930am. Home 8-9.30pm. Lunch breaks 30mins- 1hr. Sat lab for half-day.
My eye bags are as huge as teacups!! MAMA!!! Helpppppp!!! In a sense, I am glad that my life gets busier so time pass in a twinkle. I learn stuffs through these experiments too.
Ok. Back to NY day.
Sharkie is nice to accompany me back to the lab and we went to Vincent's new studio apartment to wreck havoc. Instead of havoc, he got nice cakes from Twosome place! haha I am nice afterall ok! I love Twosome place. They have nice cakes and hot chocolate!
We went for dinner which was western cuisine at VIPS. Not bad but will not go back specially for it. Afterwich, we proceed to COEX for movie- Into Greater Silence. German film award winner.
Totally out of the world. Blew me off to lala land. So annoyed (me and Vince) that we (sharkie had no choice though he CLAIMED tt he was enjoying tt movie) got out within 30mins. Its a PAIN to watch that speechless movie.
A bunch of Catholics monks living on a deserted mountain top leading a life of solitude and silence. No they are not mute. They are just so quiet ppl. Less than 3 sentences throughout tt almost an hr of viewing. haha and their action are so slow. OMG. U just have to youtube it to understand my anguish. I know this is an artistic film and I understand that the direction is trying to portray two very different lives though living on the same planet. How the busy hectic city ppl are alwys rushing ard and how incessant conversations can lead to either arguments or relations. How much are we missing from the nature or how we can't take a step slower to appreciate the nature around us. How we are constantly talking that we don't hear what others truely want to say.
Yes, I love nature. I love silence- only when I'm sleeping or studying. But
I just can't sit in a HEATED cinema (its winter) and watch the macro shots of raindrops, face of the monks, etc. With no dialogue. Even if they spoke, its in GERMAN with KOREAN subtitles.
Yes, you can whack me coz I chose this movie due to the usual kiasu singaporean mentality tt wah gt so many award surely v nice one. ><
So we went home cursing tt movie in my heart, ok maybe its just me. I wasted 10SGD. ^&*@

The path I walk everyday. From vivid autumn to white winter. Its a nice and refreshing feeling to see the leaves change from green to orange to red to yellow and slowly only the branch remains... Life is like that isn't it? Take a minute to slow down and appreciate those around you. Otherwise, they might be gone forever...
